A Perfect Pumpkin Wedding

Halloween was my favourite holiday throughout my teenage years and early twenties. Why? Because it was a great excuse to dress up as a character from one of my books and pig out on chocolate!

So when I thought about how I could translate Halloween into a luxury and romantic wedding, I decided to discount skeletons, ghosts and vampires and went for something less spooky - pumpkins! Not only does this offer a modern and stylish twist on a halloween symbol but it also reminds me a bit of Cinderella.

Having a pumpkin-inspired wedding doesn't just mean having pumpkins scattered everywhere (though it could look pretty awesome). You have to consider how each of your areas will be styled harmoniously, from the cake table to your chairs, your favours to your food. You want everything to work well together. My first point of call for designing a wedding is an inspiration/mood board that gives me visual ideas for lots of different areas of the wedding. Below is my pumpkin inspired mood board showing some of my initial ideas for the perfect pumpkin wedding.

Flowers are always a key element and in this board I’ve included bouquets with blush orange tones, large arrangements with white pumpkin adornments and even pumpkins ‘overflowing’ with gorgeous blooms. Having a few different presentation ideas gives visual and textural variety. We’ve even added in some cute pumpkin succulent favours to top it all off!

A colourful pumpkin signature cocktail is a unique way to add a colour pop to your wedding; it’s subtle enough that it won’t overpower the softer tones of your decor. We’ve also included some stunning wedding cake inspiration. We love the decadence of this design and can only imagine the yummy options for the inside.

Pumpkins of various colours could be used to dress specific areas of your venue, to create signage or even as a guestbook (such a cool idea). We imagine that your bridesmaids dresses could match your pumpkin decor in colour. You could also use them for table names/numbers, use tiny ones for place settings or perhaps use a dry and empty one for a card box. The possibilities are endless.

This board is full of soft romantic details that create a gorgeous design from a unique concept. If you’d love to see your ideas put into a design, get in touch today.
